Healing After Trauma Support

Tuesday at 5:30 PM

Location: Ballston Quarter

About the Group:

Research shows that healing is best done in community. At Grace Community Church, our "Healing After Trauma Support Group" offers bibliotherapy, coaching, reflective exercises, prayers, and peer support. We will recommend books and offer resources to further your healing journey. This will be a safe place where you can connect and find healing as you engage with the book, "The Body Keeps the Score" by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk. This group will empower you to understand the impact of trauma on your physical body. You will learn the evolution of the study of the human brain in response to trauma and how it relates to traumatic events that happen in your life. You will also learn the mind-body-spiritual-relational connections and how Jesus gives us the strength, grace and mercy to heal.

Group is offered weekly 5:30-6:30 pm. 6:30-7:15pm will be dedicated to providing private time with Karen and/or Heidi for group members who desire private (one on one) support as desired or needed.

Leaders:

This group is facilitated by Karen Robinson and Heidi Miller. Together they provide an incredible blend of Christian counseling, personal experiences and the gift of compassion.

Meeting: In-person, weekly on Tuesdays at 5:30pm.
